L’institut monétaire d’Hyderabad est rattaché à la SPMCIL (Security Printing & Minting Corporation of India Limited), qui regroupe l’ensemble des ateliers, dont voici la liste :

Au départ, lors de sa création en 1803, l’établissement opérait pour le compte du troisième Nizam (titre donné à des souverains indiens) d’Hyderabad, Nawab Sikandar Jah, de la dynastie Asaf Jahi. En 1950 le gouvernement indien en prit le contrôle.
Depuis le 28 août 1997, la Monnaie d’Hyderabad est établie à Cherlapally. Elle avait été installée à Saifabad en juillet 1903.
Le 1er novembre 2001 les opérations qui continuaient d’être réalisées à Saifabad ont été entièrement et définitivement déplacées à Cherlapally.

In 1803, the Mint has been first established to serve the Nizam of Hyderabad, named Nawab Sikandar Jah (Asaf Jahi dynasty). In 1950, it was taken over by the Indian Government.
From 28th August 1997, the Mint of Hyderabad is settled at Cherlapally. It was at Saifabad since July 1903.
On 1st November 2001, last operations in Saifabad were totally shifted to Cherlapally.
