Monnaies en état dit assez beau / Coins in an about good condition

French graduation system uses the term “assez beau” (AB) for coins from 2 to 5 on the American graduation scale (from 1 to 70). In the American system there are more than one term :

Regarding coins in a fair condition (FR), their reliefs are heavily worn and the legends can be completely erased. Even the rim is worn. But the date is still readable. So they can be identified. 2 is the number attached to them.

Regarding coins in an about good condition (AG), their reliefs are quite outlined, the legends are readable but some of the letters have been impacted by the wear of the rim. The dates and Mint letters of those coins can be read, and devices can be identified. 3 is the number attached to them. We can also use the term Almost Good.

Regarding coins in a Good condition (G), reliefs are outlined, the rim isn’t worn, but the top of some letters can be erased. Numbers from 4 to 6 are attached to them.

Here you will find coins in such conditions, currently available in Elysées Numismatique coin shop.
